Back in 1979, Irv Rossman founded the very first Damon's restaurant on the east side of Columbus, Ohio.
Irv loved barbecued ribs and considered himself to be somewhat of an expert, but he just couldn't seem to find a favorite barbecued rib restaurant. After visiting several restaurants, even throughout the South where the tradition began, he decided to create his own. After experimenting in his own kitchen, Irv came up with many of the recipes we still use today, including our own special barbecue sauce. The restaurant that served "the best ribs in town" soon became a favorite with the locals, but that was only the beginning. Since then, our barbecued ribs and onion loaf have won awards in cities all over the country. With the development of the Clubhouse concept, Damon's reputation for great food and great entertainment (we call it "eatertainment") spread far and wide. Now you'll find over 100 locations throughout the United States and Great Britain and we're not stopping there!
