This is a fanciful Southern joint, replete with checkered tablecloths and hot johnnycakes, in the heart of the Windy City. Specialties include fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and jambalaya (the latter in appetizer and entree sizes), pulled pork and po'boy sandwiches, catfish, country-fried steak, and, of course, red beans and rice. There's also a full bar with "Voodoo Beer" available.

Food lacked the flavor of the South.Everything I had was bland... If you want real Breadpudding go to Koozy's Cafe on 87th and Harlem its great White Chocolate Bread Pudding..
This is a must visit restaurant in Chicago. Once you eat there, you will definitely want to go back. The food is great! I especially like the blackened chicken, greens, and bread puddding. If ...
GREAT place. Gumbo and jambalaya excellent. Service is also excellent. Wonderful atmosphere.
I LOVE Dixie Kitchen! I'm especially addicted to the jambalaya and to the jalapeno jelly. The service is always wonderful (rare in Hyde Park) and the atmosphere is fun. Come on down!
