Located in the courtyard of Museum Square, close to the Country Art Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits, this upscale Lebanese restaurant offers exotic cuisine in elegant surroundings. With food that Los Angeles Times critic Irene Virbilia deemed "some of the best Mediterranean in Los Angeles," Al Amir serves up platters of Middle Eastern specialties like hummus, baba ghannouj, kibbeh and fatayir (triangle pastries filled with lemony cooked spinach.) More adventurous diners can feast on lamb tartare or grilled quail. For dessert, Al Amir flaky Baklava and sweet, strong Turkish coffee provide the perfect finale to any meal.
