I'O specializes in high-end Hawaiian and other Pacific cuisines from Chef James McDonald. Appetizers include crabs, ribs, scallops, and wontons, most with adventuresome sauces (like caviar garnish). Fish, chicken, beef, and vegetable entrees get similarly exotic renderings: lobster flambéed with dark cane rum, steak with fern shoots and escargot, etc. Specialty cocktails, a premium wine list, and tastefully swank, seaside surroundings; priced accordingly.
