Scotty's Brewhouse, a Ball State University hang-out, touts its "big city blues atmosphere in a small-town setting", but there is also a bit of the corner soda shop: in addition to the jazz on tape and the 65 beers on tap or in bottles, you can sidle up to the hand-made oak bar and wet your whistle with a milkshake or a root beer float. The food? Burgers and fries.
