Alabaster Box restaurant opened its doors to the public October 13, 2001. August 18, 2002 the restaurant was renamed Alabaster Box Restaurant and Soul Cafe, in preparation of the celebrated one year anniversary.
The building is conveniently located at 6675 Arlington Road, on the corner of Arlington and Lone Start just minutes away from Downtown Jacksonville and the Beaches. Alabaster Box Restaurant is the first and only of its kind in the city of Jacksonville and believed to be the only one in the state of Florida. The restaurant offers a full service menu with the very best in authentic "soulfood" with a twist, including a few caribbean and cajun dishes, great steaks and the best seafood in Jacksonville, so we've been told. It is an elegant, fine dining establishment; dimly lit with a candlelight ambiance and a combined Old World/Afro-Cultural garden-like atmosphere. Tuscany walls, linen cloths and smooth house jazz adorns the Angelesque motif.
The restaurant also features extra amenities such as poetry and live jazz on Saturday nights and an occassional theme party.
Additionally, the restaurant has been a source of enjoyment for families and students and has catered events such as wedding receptions, retirement parties and meetings, seminars and lectures for corporate, networking and church organizations.
Alabaster Box is owend and operated by husband and wife team Adrian and Traci Smith and offers the ultimate in cultural dining and entertainment. Catering is also available.
