L'Auberge

My husband and I are new to the area and decided to try L'Auberge after hearing it was the best restaurant in the area. We decided to try the Oktoberfest special dinner. A number of things went wrong with the meal. For one thing, the special German Oktoberfest beers advertised did not arrive (poor planning on the part of management?) and my pork was not just cold but ICE cold and nearly raw. I spent several days worrying I would get sick from the bite I had taken of undercooked pork. Other than that, the meal was okay, if a bit average. Certainly not the kind of meal you would expect from a good restaurant. To be fair, they did comp us the meal (take it off our bill.) That still didn't make up for the horrible dining experience. All I can say is, we won't be back, and we made sure to tell all our fellow military officers not to bother trying L'Auberge. There are good restaurants in the Dayton area - Carver's comes to mind as an excellent one - but from what I could see, L'Auberge was nothing but disappointing.
